haha i did this show, used this as a model for my voice, worked out beautifully. best show ever.

oh and btw the guy who did this voice in the movie passed away, too bad, he was awesome

They shot the plant sequences at about 75% of real speed so thats how the puppeteers could keep up.
There's a series of wires that were pulled and released for the puppetry.
There were a truck load of puppeteers each in control of different segments of the plant.
Something like 4 different sections just for the upper lip? Just like animatronics these days, but without motors....
