Thanks for the post, that's a very cool idea! I'm going to do this with all my RC's. Maybe no music next time <shrug> kinda made you hard to hear. Thanks again!

@squierplayer Thats what you get for buying an RC from Walmart.
-
Good idea.. but the Dollar store has 'sticks' for helium balloons that fit Perfect over antena.. 4' long.. Works like a charm

Just to give you a heads up tip on antennas. They are made to a certain length and the system is tuned for that length of antenna wire. You shouldn't mess with the length or gauge of the wire. There is a reason for different lengths from different brands.

Cool tip. I'm gonna do it today!

how can i add an antenna to my rc car, i just bought a cheap Corvette car from Wal-Mart and it doesn't even have an external antenna, so the range is like 10 ft. On the box it says the range is 65'/20m but it doesn't go that far. Is it because I am in a building with a lot of other electronics going? I thought maybe a longer antenna would fix it

A longer antenna probably will fix it. Do you have any experience in soldering? It should be fairly easy to solder on a longer antenna. You can use any piece of wire, really.
