A nesting piping plover, sitting four eggs, on a barrier beach in Cape Cod Bay. The nesting area is well marked and protected from human interference, and the eggs themselves are encased in a predator excluder. Unfortunately, the tides cannot be stopped by ropes and wire caging. Hopefully, we can avoid a powerful southwest blow during an astronomic high tide for the next few weeks.
