As a Virginia high schooler with several perfect science SOL exams and currently attending a governor's STEM academy I feel strongly for this topic; however there does exist a question of practicality. Motivation amongst my peers is lacking, most of them typically don't have enough to cover there interests as well as something incredibly cool and awesome like quantum physics or the such, so why must they be coerced into topics they may spend hours trying to understand? To build discipline?.....

regular physics in high school takes a year to teach, and you would want to stack all this on top of it? i understand for AP, which i'm taking anyways but normal people wouldn't care at all and just drop out and not do all the work. Plus the average American highschool student isn't even smart enough to learn all this

Yes - I am also aware that fish swim in water, bears are animals, and that reptiles have amniotic eggs; although I suppose the latter isn't that obvious to a layman, but nonetheless - Eat a dick, good sir.

I'm in leaving cert (which is like the final year of high school in Ireland) and we learn most of this stuff and although it's really tough it's also really really interesting. I can't believe it's not available in America.

In Hungary we learn all these stuff. They are interesting, but the depth we go into these topics is starting to get a bit too much. Quantum physics was awesome, until we started to do the math of it. Radiation and decomposition of elements is interesting, but since i don't want to be a physicist nor a chemist or any kind of scientist, I can't see the point leaning it this thoroughly. I mean it's okay to learn the basics about how the world works and all that, but come on, i's too much.
