http://www.majorleagueinsidertraining.com Have you ever tried to swing a baseball bat while standing in a canoe? As you can imagine, it would be tough to generate any kind of significant power in your swing as you wouldn't be able to stabilize enough to do that. In order to hit a baseball with maximum power, you first must have a stabile lower body and core. Without this, it's impossible to swing with force. Strong abs, strong lower body, and strong hips are essential for becoming more of a power hitter in baseball. Here is one exercise for hip stability and swing power that you can start doing right now that will allow you to hit the baseball further, with more power and with more consistency. Become a better baseball player by conditioning your body and strengthening the muscles that are needed to hit a baseball as best as possible. Head to http://www.majorleagueinsidertraining.com and pick up your copy of the Major League Insider Training System after watching this to get in the best shape of your life for your next baseball season. Dear Jeff, i am trying to become an elite player and as of now I am just a line drive hitter. I really want to start hitting for more power and hit more homeruns. I saw your video on "hitting the hips in the weight room" will i get stronger by doing hip workouts everyday or do i need to rest in between days? How often can i do these workouts a week? someone please give me some feedback!

@Mycookiesarenotgay its not at all rare, its very common since its often who you now ,not what you know in that business. Most sports are full body motions, theres no isolation in sport. What im saying if youd read correctly was that kneeling on all 4s trying to balance will not transfer to an explosive standing ballistic action like swinging a bat or throwing anything. It would only be a help for someone who was very weak to begin with or as a prehab/rehab exercise.

@scarred10 if so that's very rare, they don't just hire any fuckin' baffoon to train you. Also if you were actually to know certain aspects of the game you'd realize that hitting a baseball is one big full-body motion, rotating the hips can also help you turn on that inside pitch.... douchebag.

@jayrad2011 it doesnt work regardless of who he is and has nothing to do with hitting anything.Youll find many big name personal trainers are clueless in some aspects of the game.

@scarred10 No it works he was the trainer for the Mets and David Wright's personal trainer I think he knows a little more about hitting better than you do.

this is bullshit, joint stability for any sport would be specific to the posture and motion used in the sport so this would have limited transferability. Also its impossible to do that drill without shifting weight to the support side.
