The view from Ingleborough summit across the valley to Whernside for me is one of the most dramatic in the dales. The walk is a delight.

It is a walk that needs to be prepared for because 3 hills and 26 miles is never easy. Having said that lots of people walk it every year from youngsters to pensioners so it can be done as long as a bit of fitness peparation before taking on the challenge is wise to do.

cheers i might be doing that when the weathers gd.
we and my mate had a really hard backpacking holiday where we walked from thuscross over to appletreewick over this moor then to burnsall then to grassington then over a moor to malham. it took us 2 and a half days but was really enjoyable!!
which mountain you thinks best? ive been up pen-y-ghent and whernside but never up ingleborough.

Penyghent is my personal favourite but Ingleborough runs it close as the summit table top is always a joy to be on. a lot of people put Whernside 3rd because of the laborious haul up from Ribblehead but I have an affection for it. and it is the highest of them all. Moreover, the views from Whernside to much overlooked Kingsdale and Gragareth in the west is always one I look forward to.
