What does a slave master have to do with race? First and foremost a slave master is a capitalist. The metaphor is a correct one. Gilbert acted as if he owned lebron. Lebron left with no warning. Pissed off Gilbert so much that he wrote a nasty letter questioning the audacity of his departure.

He wouldn't use that metaphor referring to a white man as the slave because people would think about it and put it in the right perspective so it doesn't do the trick but when used referring to a black person as the slave people more specifically white people would automatically jump all over the race bait without even thinking about it.
