Have to feel for any mother losing a child, regardless of how or who they are..however she knew he was involved in violent crime and knew the consequences, probably even had an idea he carried a gun, so at least she had time to come to terms with the prospect, could set aside a little part of her to expect this...unlike the mother whose child is gunned down in error or as an innocent bystander during shootouts.

As expected some 'Community Leader' pops up and blames agencies, they're the ones to get this sorted - no darlin' this is your community, you like being identified as being a defined group in our society, so get your @ss out and work at breaking the cycle of multiple partner pregnancies, general promiscuity, father absenteeism and lack of family control, morality and social responsibility...THAT will go a long way to stopping these pointless killings.

If the mother knew that he was doing criminal activity, than that problem number one, shows the lack of love she had for her son, and complete ignorance it shows that she had. She is just as responsible for her sons death as her son, she was just condoning the actions of her criminal son.
