  • You can pickup the Juki sewing machine for little cost by searching ebay, etc. The quilting frame is also available by searching. The x and y axis controllers were ourchased from Gecko and I think cost about $130 each. I used an old pc I had to manage the controllers, and bought Mach3 for &175 to run the gcode. I used servo motors and the encoders were bought from usdigital for ~$25. Stepper motors don't need the encoders. Wiring , etc cost about $75. HTH

  • I use my embroidery machine in the same manner, quilting the sandwich together with square designs readily available on the internet. Nice.

  • Thanks, I am using Bobcad to make gcode from various sources that I convert to dxf using Wintopo.

  • John .. I think this is the best innovative approach by using Mach3... I am glad you have posted the video ling.. What software you are using to create GCODE?..

    I am really impressed..

  • The speed of the sewing machine is controlled external to Mach and is dependent on the speed that I drive the X & Y axis. i.e. If I gcode a F30 the sewing machine will stitch at say half the speed of a F60. A limit is reached where the speed could cause the needle to bend while in the down position. The JUKI foot control is replaced by the external controller.

  • AS a guy who has hooked Mach3 up toan XYZ Router, Plasma Cutter and a Turret Punch with Plasma, I can say, that is absolutely fantastic and a job well done.

Do you have the foot control hooked up like a spindle so you can control stitches per minute? or are you manually operating the foot control?

  • Not much to see from the bottom. The sewing machine rests on a basic 'X' 'y' table with the 'X' axis left to right and the 'Y' axis along the length of the sewing machine. Really easy to build.

  • you are a genius , absolutely marvellous, can you film table from blow pls

  • So.. show me something creative.

  • Sorry but this just doesn't look creative AT ALL...
