@panamaniak It depends on the episode. On the episode where Lamont has his love group visit the house, Ah Chew is Chinese. In this episode, he is Japanese.

Pat Morita was absolutely spectacular on "Sanford and Son" as Ah Chew! Too bad he was only on for one season (Season 5). A great supporting character! That "Japanese" food sure looked good! I believe it was actually Chinese food (Chow Mein Noodles).
Ah Chew: "Fred, would you like to try some of this Sukiyaki?".
Fred: "No, I'll just stick with these Granny Gooseiyakis!".
