Composed by Narciso Yepes, this 6-string guitar interpretation was recorded in the early 70's, and was often played in concerts as an encore piece. It was inspired by the maestro's experience of Peru. Close your eyes and be transported to Cuzco and the omnipresent flute music of the Inti-Raimi...

  • It was never burned though, as the 'Incas' abandoned the city because of a long war with their neibors the 'Wari' just before the 'Spaniards' arrived in Peru. From what I have heard from the locals is that the Incas could not recover from the Wari wars, and then from a war from Spanish conquistodores. I have been there and seen it. No charred anything, anywhere... So burning might look cool to some, but not at all accurate and possibly offensive to some, like myself Hmmmmmm

  • @LovMusic1000 Sir, if I have offended you with anything in this video, I sincerely apologize. No offence was intended. I consider myself fortunate that you are the first and only one to take issue with my editing. As I prefer not to take this video down, I hope you will accept my assurances that no disrespect to Peru, the Wari or the Incas was intended.

I too have been to Machu Pichu; I love that place and would certainly not like to see it burn, not even in my dreams.

  • Exquisite playing from Maestro Yepes. And I like the wave effect at the end of the video to match the trills!

  • @ninebreaker21 Thank you, you are too kind! Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for this, REALLY!

  • well I think actually this piece was composed by the Flamenco guitarist Sabicas. Too me it sounds like Fantasia Inca, that Sabicas composed in the early 60´s., but maybe I´m wrong...

  • HERMOSO COMO NUESTRO MACHU PICCHU ^^

  • What album is this from? I would really like to have it...

  • He developed the 10-string guitar. Yepes desarrolló la guitarra de 10 cuerdas.

  • what instrument is this?looks like a 10 string.......

  • I had this on an old Decca issue from the 60's I think. Great program, that also had the Suite Espanola by Sanz. Is this all on CD yet?

    Buen trabajo. Un abrazo.
