@HanutaSlagteren simply because the song is simple, it's 4 chords which are being played straight forward (powerchords on the bass, with the root and the fifth) and that on a pretty simple beat all throughout the song , which gives the guitar way more room than anything else. That's why there's a lot of delay and hall effects in the song, it's supposed to give it more depth and it works pretty fine.
Also the solo on the record is just 3 notes, still sounds awesome.

I can't believe the solo is only 3 notes and has such feeling, he's improvised a lot since then though.
