Thanks very much. You make things very simple.

Thanks for this. I originally thought that you can find the remote PE's label for the MPLS VPN from a 'show mpls' command but looks like you need the 'show ip bgp vpn4 all labels' command instead.

I like how you just happen to have a protocol analyzer sitting around on your desktop :) On a serious note, thanks for all your videos. They're really good. I enjoy CiscoPress but it can be dry after I read it 3-4 times through this is a good break, and I find it helps me enjoy the books more

Great video, the wireshark sniff makes it so much clearer and easy to understand. vpn label i think was the hardest to understand.
thank you.

Your video is very clear. I tried to replicate a similar setup in GNS3 and then used Wireshark to capture the traffic in MPBGP. But no BGP Update packet appears in Wireshark though my config is working perfectly. Can you say what I am doing wrong?

Make sure that you are exporting at least 1 route from the VRF into BGP, and then while doing the capture, issue the command: "clear ip bgp *" and wait a until the neighborship comes back up, then stop the capture. You will see the update during that time. Best wishes,
Keith

Thank you for your fast response. Yes that worked. One other question. What is the difference between what a VPN Label does and what a Router Target value does. They sound to me like they do similar things.

@SuperMickod
The VPN label, is the bottom label, and is created for a route by the PE who is learning that route from the customer. RT are used to identify which routes should be imported into a customer's VRF from the MBGP tables. RD keep routes unique in MBGP so that if two customers have the same route, they appear unique to MBGP.
