This song was introduced at the Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders' Meeting in July 1976. The lyrics were completed two days before the meeting. President Ikeda composed the melody by singing while someone played the piano in order to fine-tune the melody. As a paean to the spiritual freedom of the people and their efforts to become fundamentally happy individuals -this was dedicated by Mr Ikeda to Soka Gakkai members - members who fought against priests who had attempted to control and manipulate the lay organisation.
