damn these friken 50 60 year old people are making a big deal out of nothing. ea anti Christ? most of their games are sports games for goodnes sakes how is a racing or football game anti christian? seriously
Great video. You probably shouldn't have used FOX news footage. YT is coming down hard on that sort of thing and fair use only applies to youtube partners.
Well said. And yeah, I always wondered why movies, graphic novels & literature were allowed to portray violence & sexuality but not video games. Also, I see Six Days In Fallujah as an interactive documentary and not just a mere video game aimed to promote violence and war. FOX news should get a life and understand that video games deserves to be treated just like movies
Y'know, you always call video games an art form, and I sometimes almost call it that too. Except whenever I think of calling something a work of art, I remember that Atsushi Inaba (god) stated "Games are not art. Art is for one's innermost self. Games are for others." So I can never call games art lest I defy the almighty lord of excellence.
Great Video. "Video games" will be considered "interactive audiovisual experiences" someday... It's just a matter of time. Meanwhile, we gotta keep fighting for respect.
"It still really isn't that complicated. It is simple compared to a lot of things we do nowadays in the modern world. I mean the work that I do in video games is actually far more complicated than the aerospace work" - John Carmack accepting the Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge Level 1 Prize. Apparently making toys isn't rocket science. It's substantially more difficult.
Nice video man, you know how to explain our feelings, but till now why are games and movies not equal. And why do movies get to go around sexuality and war but games can't.
in Norway, the libraries have taken up videogames as part of their cultural collection. Some libraries are equipped with xboxes or ps3's depending on what the individual library feels is the more suitable console. In my local library one can rent games and play them in the library if one brings headset. Right now they have a policy of only using games with a age rating similar to "all audiences" though.
if you don't like the content or subject of a game, don't play it. If parents don't want their kids playing certain games, don't buy it for them. It's THAT SIMPLE.
It just makes me think of Modern Warfare 2 and their "shooting up civilians while playing a double agent" level that got crushed by the media on day one.
Too bad for them that the game sold more than any other game in history on release day... what does our country care more about; shielding us from violence or lots of friggin money? Easy answer folks.
I'm not saying the level was a good or bad idea...just saying that games that can sell enough can easily whether the storm.
