Spanish Royals Visit Imperial Japan

Spanish royals King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia are in Japan for a six-day visit. Today they met with Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the imperial palace. The Spanish royals want to promote Spain and strengthen the strong ties between the two countries. Their visit will also include a tour to ancient Kyoto and to high-tech research centers such as Tsukuba.

the imperial office put the red carpet in front of the building to welcome the guests because they are king and queen. the office didnot do the same even if the guest were the us president or the china president, because he was a kind of "political man".
