This version of Al Jolson singing "I'm Sitting On Top Of The World" is an alternative, unissued track ... Not the commercially 'released' version used in the latest King Kong film ... Picture stills from various King Kong movies have been added to the wonderful singing voice of Al Jolson ... If you would like to visit the official IAJS (International Al Jolson Society) website; then click here: http://www.jolson.org/ ... You will find tons of Al Jolson material, which is updated weekly ... plus a very informative Jolson Forum; where discussion is held daily on the World's Greatest Entertainer: The King of Showbusiness himself: Mr Al Jolson! ... PJP ... :))

  • I know the original recording was from the 1920's. Was this version from the same time? Sounds like this version is from the early 30's... Is it an original recording or is it something mixed for the movie? Thanks...

  • @Cnat123

This recording was a rejected outake, alternative to the commercially released version, recorded in 1947.

  • @2havago So the original was from the 20's and Jolson recorded this version and released it in '47?

    Thanks for your help!..

  • @Cnat123

Jolson first recorded the song in 1925 - Interestingly, it being one of the first recordings he did by the then new electric recording system.

The version used in this video wasn't the one released, but, instead, is an outtake from the same session, in '47.

The released version was used in the film "King Kong" and in "Richard III"

  • This song may be old, but it's really classic and catchy.

  • I hope Justin Bieber dies in a hole.

  • This is a joy to listen to,love him!

  • Good god I love this...

  • @leinster47 wouldnt really suit the theme because fallout 3 is set in the apocolyptic world of the 1950s a couple of centuries later and this song was made in the 20s

  • They should have put this on the soundtrack release. :(
