Last night New York's Jada Yuan went to the premiere of the HBO movie Recount, starring Laura Dern, Kevin Spacey, Bob Balaban, and Ed Begley Jr. The film relives what happened during the highly intense battle that took place between the day of the 2000 contested presidential election and the final decision by the Supreme Court that declared George Bush president. In the above video, see what Dern thought of being cast as Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, how one Daily Show writer would have rewritten the ending, and just how difficult a butterfly ballot can be.
@PatricksTime Just don't say fake, say why. Movie was EXTREMELY accurate.

I can't believe this was a made-for-tv production. The strength of the script and the professionalism of the actors (especially the stellar Laura Dern as Katherine Harris) made this film better than 95% of the rubbish that can currently be seen in any cinema.

Incredible movie! I was so stoked to finally get it through Netflix after not knowing for a while when it was going to be released. I hope in a year or two some states would be ready to show it in specialty theatres. It truly deserves that and more! And that's from someone who actually went through it in Palm Beach (was too young to vote but supporting everyone at events across the state)! I'm glad to see it at least got a grand premiere, go down in history and rock on rock ON!~!
