My blender Site for this tutorial (including blend files):
http://sites.google.com/site/coskunsblendertutorial/

This is the very first part of my tutorial to model a Star Trek based spaceship with blender 2.5. We start with nothing and build up our ship step by step. It targets beginners and go through a lot of important blender tools. When finished, it will contain about 20 hours of video material. To get an overview about all available parts of this tutorial go to:

  • @TaCoskun ... I wanted to say: "which you can SEE immediately"

  • @lucifer1101 yeah, this would make it easier. But I had always the feeling that keeping it like it is forces you to always take care of keeping your vertices aligned. If they are not aligned you will get a hole which you can immediately. That is why I don't like changing the clipping value to make life easier.

  • You should use the Clipping option with the Mirror Modifier, it will help with joining the vertices together in the mirror.

  • @TaCoskun thx

  • @RiverEagles999 you mean at 5:58? - Press b to go to box-select mode. Than select the vertices you want to delete by box-selecting them like shown in the video. Then press x on your keyboard and choose vertices in the menu.

  • how do you remove half of the saucer?
