During the spring and summer of 2011 I volunteered with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to help monitor bats. The NCBAMP project uses a special set of equipment that records the sounds of feeding bats. This data is then used to help bat biologists learn more about the distributions of the many bat species that we share our world with. This is especially important today because of the deadly bat plague known as the White Nose Syndrome (WNS) that is killing bats all over the east coast of the USA.
Special thanks to the NCBAMP and the NCWRC for putting together this project great thanks to all of the volunteers who made this happen.
