Connoisseur's yidaki, key G/G, made and played by Adam Marrilaga

An incredible yidaki that sounds totally different to what you hear in this clip. It is too loud for its own good with all the nuances and that beautiful depth lost in the automatic volume control. For sheer pleasure and thrill, you'll be hard pressed to find a more exciting instrument to play!

Adam Marrilaga made this monster of a stick, with a bell size 12 cm across. Awesome acoustics with powerful yet yielding backpressure, perfect sized mouthpiece, easy overtone.

Its amazing how different the Australian eucalyptus didgeridoo sounds.

The other day, in a workshop of mine, I recognized immediately the sound of an eucalyptus didgeridoo when I asked a person to do a certain exercise in the didge. Apparently he had a friend who bought that didgeridoo in Australia.
