in the post office line
there's always someone next to me
who in stage whispers complains
incessantly
they like to point out that
too many windows are shut
and by the same token
not enough of them are open

and at the airport
you always come across the sort
who has no idea of how loud they talk
they rattle on and on
to their cousin in wisconsin
about every inane thing
under the sun

and then there are the kind
who let such things consume their mind
and fixate on them all the time
when they write a tune
such people tend to assume
other people will find their whining
as entertaining as they do
