This was a piece I designed and built in 1991 for a theatre production by Open City's Keith Gallasch and Virginia Baxter, called "Museum of Accidents"
Held at Redfern's performance space, the production used a museum format and "curators" led the theatre audience on foot on a guided tour of exhibits relating to accidents of all genres. The radio control sphere wrecking ball burst out of a wooden box in the middle of the show and then proceeded to deliberately knock over exhibits and assault the audience, causing as much mayhem and as many accidents as possible.
I had the pleasure of directing the wrecking ball on opening night.

  • Unfortunately I was too busy driving it to film it on opening night, but it was hilarious fun to chase the audience and crash into them, and deliberately try to knock over the displays.
