Even better, read the history first, then the books.
-
Jeez, please read the books, THEN watch the TV shows. You'll embarrass yourself far less.

I don't understand, sharpe is fighting in the netherlands army, yet he's commanding troops in british uniform?
-
@evejunkie1942 Hmm i must pick it up some time.
-
@ContinentalPatriot Yes it's called Sharpe's Waterloo and it's written by Bernard Cornwell. All of the Sharpe movies are based off of the novels. Though there are quite a few differences.
-
@evejunkie1942 there is a book?
-
@evejunkie1942 Also the movie wouldnt be half as funny if Orange was a GOOD soldier. :)

@smoke0imix0god In the real battle of Waterloo the Prince of Orange actually performed rather well. He was young and many of his troops were deserting but he still managed to hold several positions which Wellington had given up on. Cornwell just needed someone to be incompetent to give Sharpe something to struggle against in the book.

@Zichiable "Witherspoon", his name;)

1:43 - 'He broke my sword with a spoon'. O_O
8:50 onwards, that horse is such a bad actor.
Constantly looking at the camera and smiling...bloody amateur.

"After all the years I've been fighting the French, I've become sick and bloody tired of that shite music they play. I have, so I have."
