Early 80's TV commercial for Bex - may be the last one, I certainly don't remember any more recent ones!

Same voice as the old radio ads - anyone know who it is??

  • Lol...When we were sill little kids we used to say this:

"If pain strikes take Bex...BUT SEX is better!"

  • Mmm, I remember a friend's older brother had a similar sticker on his panel van (with a drawing of a Bex packet with the "B" changed to an "S") when we were kids - mid 70's or thereabouts...

  • They wonder why we have such a chemical drug problem in society its because we don't have BEX or Vincent's powders anymore! Half the housewives in Australia were addicted to that stuff A cuppa tea- and enough BEX and your lie down never ends! Awesome

  • I remember my mum would give me a bex at the slightest sign of a headache. She would say "have a glass of water after though!" By the time I let that powder take effect, I didn't feel the need for anything else. I'd reached nirvana. I also remember that it was not all that bad on the tongue. Obviously it was made for kids to enjoy.....heheheh.

  • We have pain relief powders here too One is called Goodys, I had a man I worked with that told me his Grandma had him go to the store every day for a Goody powder and a Coca Cola. Its already got more caffeine in it than aspirin and acetaminophen

  • They were tops at ending a headche in a hurry.... These and Vincent's APC powders

  • Yeah, The BEX factory was in Crown St Surry Hills. Someone grafitti'ed "BEX rots ya guts" on the wall...ha ha...

I remember housewives would say - "Have a bex with a cuppa tea and a lie down love."

  • A cuppa tea - a Bex and a good lie down.....

They were pretty good, if I recall.... best headache cure ever....

  • Have 2 Bex and a lie down

  • I preferred Vincent's powders!
