Chand Si Mehbooba Played on Flute By Dr.N.R.Kamath (Himalay Ki God Mein)

I have played this song on high frequency or short Bamboo Transverse Flute. This is a famous song originally sung by Mukesh and was compoed by MD Kalyanji Anandji for the Film : Himalay Ki God Mein in 1965. They based this song on Raga Pahadi which was born in Mountains and from my personal experience whenever I play Raga Pahadi songs in the Mountains it sounds the Best compared to any other song based on a different Raga. So this is the beauty of Raga Pahadi. I am dedicating this tune to my Dear YouTube Friend Prof. Zaidi Sahib of Lahore (YouTube Screen Name is sqhzaidi). Now I know Prof. Zaidi Sahib is himself a Great Musician and lives in Lahore the Heart of PUNJAB Province in Pakistan. We all know Lahore is a Great Historic City.
I know very well that people on both sides of Punjab whether they live in Indian Punjab or Pakistani Punjab, they love to listen to Raga Pahadi and Pahadi based songs. There are hundreds of compositions in Punjabi language where many folk songs are based on Raga Pahadi. Every year (for last 15 years), for our Ganesh Temple Rathyatra or Chariot procession in the streets of Flushing, New York, we invite a Pakistani Dholak Player whose name is BUTA SHEIKH. From my point of view he is the best Dholak player in the United States. And Buta Sheikh hails from Lahore and is a Punajbi. And I play various Folk Songs on Flute along with his faboulous sounding Dholak during this 3 Hour Ganesh Rathyatra procession. Dholak Player Buta Sheikh loves my Flute. So after he arrives at the Temple for Dholak Playing, first thing he requests me is to play a Hindi song based on Raga Pahadi and while I am playing it on the street on my short Flute he listens intensely without playing Dholak and after he is satisfied completely, he starts playing his Dholak along while I switch to playing Folk Tunes in sync with his Dhoalk Rhythm. Folk Tunes I play are from various parts of India such as Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarati Garba, Tamil, Kerala and West Bengal. All the devotees dance on the streets for 3 hours to the tune of my Flute and Buta Shiekh's Dholak in the procession. I enjoy this procession a lot and I have been playing Flute with the Dholak every year for last 15 years with Buta Sheikh.
