I knew a married couple who loved their garden, they left all the Ants, Snails, ladybirds etc etc, just live in their garden as nature intended, they wouldn't kill any the Ants or Snails, and their garden was the most beautiful garden, i ever saw. If you really don't like Snails in your garden, leave some old saucers/ or something simular dotted around the garden and every night put on the saucer cucumber chunks, banana pieces, slices of apple and cabbage leaves (left over from Sunday lunch).

in our garden we use to carefully go out after dark, and shine a torch, and their would be hundreds quietly munching apple pieces banana cucumber etc, Everything is here for a reason, i hate nature etc destroyed, everything (including us) come from one source, God, who i believe isn't a 'he', but the spiritual power of all good and life, the very essence of nature, friendships etc. As i say i knew a couple who left the snails etc alone and their garden was so beautiful.

If you put out these nice things for Snails, they will leave your plants alone, because believe me Snails only eat leaves on plants as a last resort, they much prefere banana , apple slices and cabbage leaves etc.
