Thats pretty bad, as in, not good! The pilot damn near killed an entire crew! I've lost to many friends to BS like this!

Yeah...he messed up. No big deal though, Everyone was fine and lived to talk about it at the bar that night, right? The best lessons are the ones that almost got you killed and I know that from personal experience.
Low level flight in a helicopter full of dudes has serious risks, that is why you get paid extra.
