This sums up the Welsh in a nut shell; well at least in the late 19th / Early 20th Century. A good old sing song in the pub with your mates / with the village lads.

The song is 'Y Mochyn Du', a Welsh folk song used in the film 'Hedd Wyn.'

  • Thank you for posting this scene. Although "Hedd Wyn" is not yet available on DVD in the States, I have watched it on VHS. I consider it to be the best film I have ever seen about World War I.

  • an absolute masterpiece of a film.
