Silver Gold Pros & Cons How much should I get of each?

Well you asked the question, "how much of each?".... and your bad audio glitches completely ruined the answer at the crucial point.

So what was the ratio for each, out of, say, $10,000 savings/net-worth?

@gudster Sorry about the audio problems. If you have 10K to spare then I would say 7K in gold and 3K in silver but I recommend that you go to a precious metals store and ask them to let you see what 1K of silver looks like and it would be great if you could hold it in your hands and then 1K of gold and hold it in your hands. If you can't then just figure out the weight and then hold something similar in weight. This will help you to know how much you'd like to travel with. comment Continued

@gudster continuing: I know of a person that had plenty of money and didn't realize the weigh difference and went out and bought 10K in silver and was shocked at how heavy it was and had a hard time moving around with all of that silver. If you have lots of money you want to change the lighter option is to change it to gold but it is good to have silver because it is analogous to having change or "smaller bills".

@fettkatt87 I agree, water and food are better than gold and silver, but until we get to the point at which no paper money or precious metal is of any value, it would be wise to diversify and to have a little gold and silver for the interim period when paper money is useless. A great big garden and chickens would be good too.

@ljhanna777 If you think silver and gold will be worthless, then do you think paper money will have any worth? If not then what does a person have to lose by investing in silver and gold which might increase in value for a time and which might be able to be use to barter or trade? Water, food and shelter are the main necessities but the right relationship with the Creator is the most important and salvation in His Son Yahshua the Messiah.
