@racinfilly Thank you. He worries me though because my last yearling was a whole lot bigger than him. his head is small he is small he is still wearing a weanling halter. But thanks. the vet said he thinks he'll do good too.

What a lovely boy! Prancer 1995, your colt should do fine with surgery. It took quite a bit of medicine to get my boy to go to sleep, but when he did, the surgery went pretty quickly. The vet cut away the extra stretched skin where the hernia was, pushed his innards into place and stitched the hole closed. My colt just had to stay stalled for a week or so, then he was fine. He did really well. Yours probably will do just as well.
