HOK Sport's New York design studio was named the second place winner of the Red Hook Bicycle Design Competition sponsored by the Forum for Urban Design. Entrants were to devise a multi-disciplinary approach for reintroducing the bicycle as the primary mode of transportation in the area. The competition was divided into three components: a design for storing up to 100 bicycles at an elevated subway station, an urban design strategy for bicycle access and circulation to and from Red Hook, Brooklyn, and a plan for financing the project. The teams work can be seen at an exhibition currently on view at the Beard Street Warehouse, 499 Van Brunt Street, Brooklyn, New York. More info: http://forumforurbandesign.org/
