  • do you think a person could fit in the gear shed?

  • @VAbackpacker There is plenty of room for someone to sleep in there. As long as they don't mind the draft coming under the fly. I have had a nap or two in the gear shed during the day to get the cool breeze but stay out of the sun.

  • does the footprint cover the open ground in the gear shed?

  • @backdraftmagnet The footprint does not cover the ground under the gear shed. I use a Integral Designs Siltarp 1 Tarp to cover the ground in the gear shed. I wish there was a footprint that would cover both but I have not found anything yet. The Integral Designs Siltarp is just the right size to fit in the space and if you peg it down or throw a couple rocks in the corners it works great! Hope that helps!

  • Thanks dude, appreciated this video. BTW, my cat hates tents!

  • @LlamaEnigma Thanks! This is the first tent my cat has ever seen. She was curious for a bit then went on to bigger and better things.

  • Great video...thanks

  • @redlerb I bought the gear shed so that there would be more room to go in and out while car camping. I think for the extra weight it would not be worth carrying it on most backpacking trips.

  • Good look-see of the tent. I was thinking about buying a gear shed but I think I would only use it on kayaking trips or two person WINTER hiking where we really needed gear space. Thanks again.
