A video adaptation of the epic story, and the last film I made without age appropriate actors.

Thanks!

  • My friend you are having trouble accepting the possibility of african greatness ( I understand our image is not impressive). Previous to the slave trade, europeans and africans were regarded as equals in european art Anthropologist have found the features of the races on negroid faces (black skin -white features). Please don't let psuedo black lecuterers cause you to react blindly as they have. May be you can shed some light on the dwarf star and the ancient flood.

    PEACE

  • Huh?

  • Huh? Jewish propaganda video? Wha?

  • nice adaptation but you're missing a lot:

Gilgamesh being 2/3rds god 1/3rd man

Bull of Heaven = Shark of Heaven LOL!

Road of the Sun, i really wanted to see that.

    Smashing of the sacred stones.

Gilgamesh never does see Enkidu again, rather accepts his death. you ruined the end :_(

    thats all.

  • The ending was my interpretation of the twelfth tablet, in which Gilgamesh enters the afterlife and does, indeed, see Enkidu again.

The wonderful thing about myths is that they are not carved in stone, so to speak. Literal manifestations are not as important as the ideas and themes, which remain constant and universal despite changes in the way the story is told.

  • Great retelling of the myth! You definitely kept the feeling of the original text with the script.

Boklukokorec and IfourI, you missed the point. This is neither Westernization nor Jewish Propaganda. This is based off an at-least-4000 years old story. The fact that it has a "flood" story doesn't make it Jewish. This isn't a Jewish story, you fools. Dannyboylee doesn't look like a dog, so your epithet's off, Boklu; and Babylon wasn't Jewish but BABYLONIAN, IfourI, so your comment is irrelevant.

  • Utnapishtim wasn't a god. The gods gifted him with long life after the flood.

Inanna (Ishtar) sent the Bull of Heaven to kill Gilgamesh and Enkidu, not a giant shark.

You missed the part where Gilgamesh fails Utnapishtim's test, and when he returns to Uruk.

Other than that, you did a great job.

  • @tmickens1225 Make your own video, you lazy jerk off.

  • ahh this could've been good if you left out the european (american) culture out of it...i couldn't get myself into it with ya'll wearing khakis, hanes t-shirts, and european hair styles..would it have killed you to include the mespotamian culture.

  • I'd say this guy has some exposure to "Lions of Israel".... according to them King James, Shakespeare, and others were black, while slaves didn't come from Africa but are infact Spanish princes and it's all white man lies........ ignore him.

  • indeed. the copy i have is filled with other tablets and other versions. what i find interesting is that Lilith ( lilitu ) and Noach ( ut-napitsim ) is in it

  • LMAO!! STFU!!! lol

  • Hey I don't think you speak Sumerian either or much less spell it correctly so shut that pie hole of yours before someone else does!

  • The 12th tablet doesn't really seem to belong in the epic itself. Like a sequel of sorts from what I've read.

  • Hey,dumbass, it's spelled Humbaba!

  • great play anyways
