Very careful tree removal from the power lines looking south on Van Duzer Street (formerly Richmond Road) just north of Broad Street in Stapleton Staten Island New York on April 13, 2011. First the crane is hooked to the tree by the bucket guy. Then the crane operator controls the descent of the tree being cut by the bucket guy from Con Edison power and Verizon lines. Traffic from Saint Pauls Ave and down Trossach Road were diverted up Trossach Road. U-turns were required by Trossach Road drivers meeting the one way Saint Pauls Ave drivers head on. Many drivers that ignored locals directions ran over or thru and stole the traffic cones and proceeded south on Saint Pauls Ave had to reverse their routes head on back. Local power was out in Stapleton Heights Historic district between 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The neighborhood dinner response was to takeouts and BBQ.
