Moon Patrol (Atari 800XL)

Making this video was frustrating. I wanted to try and do it with as few stupid deaths at possible, but the game doesn't really allow for that. There are times where you die, and there's nothing you can do about it. This kind of design doesn't fly these days, but I guess back then it was seen as a way to make people spend more money. At any rate, this is a pretty decent run, mostly at full speed, though it all falls apart near the end. For what it's worth, the video capture became corrupt, which slowed down my emulator!

That looks done very high-quality. How did you get it? You didn't use a camera recording, did you? Any tips for us poor Atari-no-owners??

@Pablos544 Nope, not a camera; I used an emulator which has a video output function. Atari800win Plus, specifically.

@MrHeli I don't know many emulators, but i do know some. never knew that atari800win existed. sounds good. i know spectaculator, beebem, winuae and ccs64/vice for sppectrum, bbc b, amiga and c64/vic20/pet emulation respectively. all of them have their respective strengths and weaknesses. spectaculator seems the most perfect, but then i suppose a spectrum is less difficult to emulate than say an amiga

Compared to the arcade game it looks a bit blocky, but it plays real smooth on the Atari.

I used to play this as a kid - wow it really looks dated now but it used to look good in the late 80s early 90s.
