The team of researchers, a collaboration from the University of Missouri-Columbia (UMC) and the U.S. Army, hope that this nano-sized "smart bomb" can target drug delivery to cancer cells, and leave healthy cells unharmed. Their study is published in a recent issue of Applied Physics Letters.

"In conventional explosives, shock waves are generated during detonation," she says. "In nanothermites, fast propagating chemical reactions can create shock waves without detonation." Generating shock waves without detonation is the key to this technology, she says.

Silicon was used in the 1960s to weaponize anthrax. Through an elaborate process, anthrax spores were coated with the substance to prevent them from clinging together so as to create a lethal aerosol. But since weaponization was banned by international treaties, research anthrax no longer contains silicon.

According to the FBI lab, 1.4% of the powder in the Leahy letter was silicon. "This is a shockingly high proportion," explained Stuart Jacobson, an expert in small particle chemistry. "It is a number one would expect from the deliberate weaponization of anthrax, but not from any conceivable accidental contamination."

The Livermore scientists had tried 56 times to replicate the high silicon content without any success. Even though they added increasingly high amounts of silicon to the media, they never even came close to the 1.4% in the attack anthrax. Most results were an order of magnitude lower, with some as low as .001%.

Hard proof this is not. No attempt is made to examine the probability of the alternative hypothesis that these particles formed naturally in the process of the towers destruction. What we do know is that all the elements necessary for this to happen were a part of the towers construction, and in very large quantities. We also know that much of construction material was quite literally turned to dust (despite the fancy name that's all nano-particles are). So common, Occam's Razor people.

In your exchange with ThisWeekInFascism, you were mostly correct. However, the chemical energy released isn't the same if a different % of the molecules react.

Truthers don't need to come up with an exact theory of the crime to prove Muslims/Arabs didn't pull off 9-11. There shouldn't have been any unreacted thermitic material incorporating nanotechnology in the WTC dust. And WTC7 shouldn't have been able to fall with the acceleration of gravity for 2.25 secs.
