That's one of the tricks with ads. Striking the right balance. Too much & people start switiching off & going elsewhere, as you suggetsed. That doesn't help anybody in the end :)

Thanks.
I think we all think we're that lowly cog at times :)

Foresight is a very valuable tool.
I think that sometimes you have to second guess what is going to happen & that is not always easy.
I'm reading a book at the moment which touches on just this situation :)

Thank you for commenting in the first place.
As i've often said, i get a lot of inspiration from the comments that people leave. Without you there would not be so many videos.
That doesn't just work for me, but for many vloggers :)

But isnt the ad companies the representatives of Big Media - bec the bottom line is to make money? Seems to me they seemed pretty quick to invent those cookies that are all over my machine, looking at almost everything Im doing online so that they can target their ads at me.
So while you make a good point that Big Media may have a hard time changing - on the other hand they seemed to have adapted also with the new stuff. Just look at the peripheral of almost every single web page.

Good point about the cookies & i agree that ultimately most companies just want to make money. there's nothing wrong with that. if they didn;t make money, the sites etc would disappear.
Although there are a lot of ads around. I still don't think a lot of those older media companies really understand what's going on here & the full potential of it.
How often do you actually click on any of those ads? Not many times i bet, if ever? :)

You in turn make yet another excellent point!!
