He was fired for weed, not alcohol to my knowledge. There was more to this lecture that was not captured by this video.

How the video leaked was this. Nobody in the class actually filmed it. It was not like Michael Richards, where the dude had a cell phone. Lectures for class are posted online (available to students only). Someone saved the video, and then leaked it. The school then took it off the server but it was too late. I was in class, but was off camera in this video.
