6/11/09....While chasing a severe storm in Cannon County Tennessee, just making a couple clips of a feature that had weak rotation also the part of the storm that the warning was for, lightning happened to strike about 100 yds. away! (toward the end). http://www.twxtm.com/Casterboardwheels.html

  • where is the lightning?!

  • That "pop" is electro-magnetic static produced by the lightning strike. That radio in his car picked up on that and that is the static "pop" noise that you're refering to. As for it being a close strike, that's well over a mile or two away. If it was any closer you'd have heard the thunderclap within the first 5 seconds.

  • nice

  • wow

  • You can see the lightning in the upper left hand corner at 0:26. It looks like it struck the power lines. If you listen closely you can even here a "pop" when it strikes but no loud thunder.
