I bet over half the people that mod or fix these xboxes are smarter than the people at the repair center who sometimes just screw up a console rather than fixing it. Any tutorial on fixing a console (yes it voids your warranty so what) is better than waiting a month for your console to come back (your still not guarunteed a perfect running console). If you fail to fix it then just pay 100 bucks when repair center actually learns how to repair xbox 360s. (Just wait til MS finds a permanent fix.)

Just clocked in 9 hours on it a couple days ago, it was not turned off from around 9 am in the morning until 8pm that night.

But for instance the towel trick was from normal household people. Fixing a xbox doesent require any knowledge. . Xbox repair centers KNOW that the "Xclamp" can be applied and perm fix a xbox. But doing so if it where to break again and be sent for repair. They will have hundreds of xboxes with modded clamps. Slowing repair time down because it wont be in the "how to repair xbox from microsoft" since most repairers dont know what they are actually doing. Just reading it from a computer screen.

I used the same method. My 360 started freezing. After the mod, it didn't freeze for three months. After that it hasn't messed up at all. I think it froze once more but thats over the course of 5 months with only 2 freezes. While I had a freeze almost every time I played before that. RBJTech's method is the best. I also fell asleep once with it on for 6 hours doing nothing in a game and it still works :D.

Thanks. Just trying to proove a point to people who think it's useless to void your warranty to repair a console rather than sending it in. I've already sent mine in once and I'm not happy with the results. (They sent me a refurbished and it was when they said they were adding heatsinks and didn't find one in my console. The hitachi drive is already showing signs of problems in my 360 but it's still working fine.)
