Has he been known to fix things? Sure. He wouldn't stay in business otherwise. I would love to see the footage that ended up on the editing floor. You really see the guy try to hold it together for the camera. Go in and experience for yourself but be forewarned.

Also if you don't believe what I am writing, walk into the store with a piece of equipment that works fine and watch what happens to you. Don't take my word for it. How he's gotten away with it for so long is a testament to his PR and being one of the only games in town. Experience it for yourself and be prepared not to get in a word edgewise for at least 15 minutes.

4 new tires, replace my engine, put in new brakes etc. Conversations with the guy are extremely one way. I brought in a piece that worked fine to inquire about something else and the guy started going off on what was wrong with the receiver. It worked fine. He flicked the glue off the back where he glued the antennae. I'm surprised he didn't comment on what a crappy job that was, cause he did it. I bet I could have goaded him into it. My experience with the guy is that the last two thing I brought in, he was more willing to sell me a similar product instead of fixing the one I brought in. So much for the environmentalist. He wasn't willing to fix whatever was wrong with the product for the minimum amount of money. He wanted to rack up a $150 + bench charge for a fix that might have been $40 to fix and have work. It's like if I went to a mechanic to get a headlight repaired and the guy wanted to sell me 4 new tires.

Vince is the real deal. People with the knowledge and experience in 20th century electronics, to the degree displayed by Vince, are rare. When I'm around them I shut my mouth and open my ears 'cause I know I'm gonna learn something useful. I've got 30+ years doing pro audio and I just ran across Vince and company this past month. My small Advents will be back to spec because of Audio Proz. A very important resource. Thanks Vince.
