You're right about the money. Do you know how many non-profits the Christian right have? And they all say Donate on them. It's a total sham.
This may sound strange - but it is a form of black shamanism (not related to race) where the shaman does or says something to scare the crap out of someone and then says give me money (or some other object - food, clothes, shelter) and I'll fix it for you.
