Compared with men their age, young and middle-aged women tend to have higher mortality and complication rates after a heart attack. However, the gap today is not as bad as it once was, possibly due to recent pushes to increase awareness of heart disease and heart attacks in women. Emory's Dr. Viola Vaccarino explains the results of a recent study.
