Pressure Washer Products proudly presents another pressure washing and roof cleaning rig assembled under the direction of one of our customers. Pressure Washer Products installed an All-Flo Air Diaphragm Roof Cleaning Pump and a direct drive cold pressure washer in an enclosed trailer with a side door and 5,000 lb axle with electric brakes. The All-Flo, model KE038-B3, air diaphragm pump is powered by a Rigid air compressor with a 5.5 hp Honda engine. This customer was transitioning from a Delavan 12 Volt Roof Wash System to the All-Flo Air Diaphragm Soft Wash System. The Delavan 12Volt pump offers NO WARRANTY for use with sodium hypochlorite and the All-Flo AFKE038-B3 is designed for use with highly corrosive chemicals and offers a 5 YEAR WARRANTY. He chose to keep a small Delavan 5850-101E as a secondary system. The 5850-101E is a 5 gpm pump. The All-Flo can can produce a maximum of 9 gpm. A custom cut to length, Parker air hose crimped by one of our hydraulic crimpers with brass fittings and ferrules and an inline integral filter/regulator was installed between the pump and compressor. Two lengths of two hundred feet of yellow ag hose for use chemical application hose for each system were mounted on stacked Titan Hose Reels with a stainless steel stack kit. The full frame Titan Hose Reels are composed of aluminum with stainless steel manifolds. In order to maximize efficient use of space in the enclosed trailer, the hose reels were mounted on a custom aluminum mount approximately 12" high. The open and 'protected' space below both reels provide a perfect home for the roof cleaning pumps and battery for the Delavan and All-Flo pump. Mounting the pumps as low as possible allows gravity to help feed the pumps rather than starve them. When plumbing pumps, remember that if the inlet is 1/2" FPT, the suction hose supplying the pump should be at least twice the id as the inlet. For example, the Delavan 5850-101E has a 1/2" FPT inlet. The minimum hose id for that pump should be 1" and a maximum of 14' long for priming capacity. The suction hose should always remain flexible but should never collapse under suction. To avoid air leaks on the suction side of the pump, it is a good idea to have the end crimped on with a brass or stainless steel ferrule by PWP or a local hydraulic repair shop. Do not use teflon tape anywhere unless you want problems. Use liquid teflon on low pressure fittings and medium threadlocker on high pressure fittings. Two horizontal poly leg tanks and a tote (customer choice) were properly mounted in the trailer keeping future load balance, control and safety in mind. A length of 3/4" clear ag hose supplies the 3/8" All-Flo pump with chemical. Schedule 80 pvc ball valves with viton seals were installed utilizing all Sch 80 pvc fittings where applicable. Most hoses were cut to length and crimped using brass hose barbs and brass ferrules. PVC slotted tank filters were set in place using pvc sleeves cut just a bit taller than the tank opening. The advantage of using a flexible chemical supply line attached to a filter will allow the operator to remove the filter and move it another tank or bucket to rinse or apply another type of degreaser. The customer chose a direct drive pressure washer rather than a belt drive unit and required it to be plumbed to the tote. We upsized the supply hose and used a blue top filter mounted to a custom aluminum bracket inline to the pump. Please call (800) 519-9279 or (727) 424-6600 for any questions you may have.
