Wang Kiu and Wong Shun Leung from different lineages??

  • ww w. vingtsunkungfu. info

  • nice to see 2 great masters of different lineages holding a seminar, only sad to see GM Wang Kiu is left out of the title

  • @PICLex No Im not chasing hands, I avoid them and counter them or just attack. You r chasing a body that isnt there. Real fighting aint no wooden dummy. But like you said you didnt fight for ages. Well my friend I do fight and I know how it is. I would love Wing Chun to work cuz then I could use it. But there is just a handfull that really works. Most is just fantasy.

  • @minasz

You just don't understand proper wing chun like most people. I havent been in a fight for ages, and im not an expert at wing chun, but i appreciate the basics. It sounds like you are chasing hands.

  • @PICLex You say: If he bobs, so what? well friend, than you never have been in a real fight as many wing chun artist never had a real fight. Cuz when he bobs he will let you miss and you will miss and he will punch you on the chin. A fight is more than go straight ahead and yes wing chun is stiff, that all starts with how the stance is. Like all trapping will not work. Most wing chun stuff will not work. Sorry, im not hating, Im tell you the truth.

  • @minasz

It's not stiff at all. It's very direct. If he bobs, so what? You are not attacking a certain part of the body. You are attacking his whole being, that's why we can go forward. That's the key. If his bobs and weaves are putting you off so to speak, it's a sign that you are chasing hands. Stay concious of the centreline, the rest is noise.

  • @PICLex have you ever been in a fight or ring. You will notice that all sports will follow the centerline principle and that all sports or real fight will avoid the center, by blocking, bobbing, weaving, ducking, slipping, stepping, moving out of that centerline where the punch is going. So still it makes no sense when you only go forward. You should be flexible to move with the target instead of standing stiff and only go straight ahead.

  • @minasz

The structure of wing chun is built around this centerline, the dummy teaches how to face etc. That's why the straight punches, you always attack the centerline even if that centerline is their back, or side or whatever. It makes no difference what the other guy is doing. If his head is weaving and off the center? Strike where his center is, there will be less center to destroy when he's 'dancing' all over the place.
