This is how they compare.

For people who don't know Agony is a computer game on the Amiga, 1992.

Sorgens Kammer is the 4th song on Dimmu Borgir's Stormblåst album, 1996.

I love Dimmu Borgir but Stormblåst has two songs on it that have parts that are 'borrowed' from other songs. Stian Aarstad lifted keyboard/piano parts from various sources and used them with Dimmu Borgir without the other band members knowledge. To name atleast another song other than Sorgens Kammer also checkout the Keyboard/Piano intro to the song Sacred Hour by the UK rock band Magnum. You will find that Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen by Dimmu Borgir has an intro composition that is very, very similar to Magnum's original song. Anyway you can find videos for them on youtube if you want to compare those. Enjoy the music and make your own judgements, I like Dimmu and Stormblåst (original) is a classic album.

*Thanks goes to Tim for letting me keep this up on Youtube! Thanks for commenting and answering some peoples questions about your song, thank you!*

  • The original version is magnificent, but even though Stian Aarstad stole it, you don't have to insult him. It is only a cover of the song, without credits :) Stian is an excellent keyboardist, maybe one of the best all over the world, and very keen on classical music, not a fucking DJ or similar. And I think his version is very good too.

  • @TheDarkMetalLord666 - Who's insulting him? Because I haven't!

  • I guess Stian (the keyboard player) liked video games...

  • @TheDarkMetalLord666 A cover is a cover when the original artist is credited, "a cover of the song, without credits" is just a rip-off.

Yes, he is a great keyboardist, yes, he is far superior to any crappy DJ, and in all honesty I am thankful to him for such a wonderful version of this track. But that still no excuse to steal anyone's work.

  • @MidBoss666 Yes, I agree.

  • how much of you knew agony before sorgens kammer? Well i didn't know and when i first listen sorgens kammer and loved it, i was already listening dimmu. After this song, i searched Aarstad and shocked. He may have stolen it but he showed a lot of person that there can be unimaginable songs, soundtracks that are not very popular. They can be in a video game, an unpopular movie(possibly not from US,Italy exct..), even in a toy! Last but not least, try playing "X-Men Children of the Atom"

  • Agony era un gioco stupendo.....e questa musica è stupenda!

e ho ancora l'amiga!!! ^^ non lo butto via.........troppi ricordi....

  • I remember playing the game agony 20 years ago, so each time I listen to this "ripped-off song", it takes me on a trip through time...
