It is silly to compare people especially of different times and styles.. Joe Pass was an incredible guitarist. To say, he was the best of his time, is a matter of taste. I, just, discovered Sylvain and have to say he is one of the best today. I would not say he was the best. Listen to John Stowell, Mick Goodrick and John Abercrombie.All are unique and some of the most incredible players today.

Yep... Sylvain Luc is in a MUCH higher league. I've heard quite a lot of both... And I am sorry for Joe Pass fans, but Sylvain Luc is wayyy ahead.
