Baum Kuhen is a German cake which translated means Tree Cake. It's called this because it looks like the cross section of a tree. It is also one of Shinobu's favorite foods in the world!

Yes, it is spelled Kuchen but pronounced (in Katakana in the signs) as "Ku-HeN" I've had it in Germany and in Japan. There is a difference. The Japanese version seemd to be less-sweet... which is what I personally prefered.
