You guys need to realize that all musical groups, especially the best ones that are around for a long time, grow and change over time. There are so many variables involved in life and creating music, it would be impossible for slug/ant to make 1000s of songs over the course of 15+ years and have them all be accepted as equal masterpieces.

I think elements of this song suggest that it's about a girl getting an abortion and how it affected him and his life's path
"Mama had a baby and his popped off/Give it up, turn it loose for the sake of life/If I knew now what I knew then I would make her my wife...
Hurtin that I didn't learn the words until after the fact of the matter/As a matter of fact I doubt that I'll ever even try to work it out to having her back"

@JN5B11 i dont seee how Grieves acts like Immortal Technique xD

Did anyone realize that he is using an Isley Brothers sample? They flipped this really well. The sample is "Sensuality" by The Brothers Isley. Peace.

love this beat

@DavidCross don't spend time hating real rappers. If your going to hate self absorbed white wigger rappers, hate Grieves. grieves is the douche that grew up in the midwest and tries to act like immortal technique

@CMautalen Thanks a lot for the explanation.. It went over my head a little bit. Nevertheless, this song is a jam. I think my head popped off, by I reattached it!

Its about his life man, he is the baby...its a metaphor!

Can anyone tell me what the fuck this song is about? I love Atmosphere's music, and this song is fire. But I can't stand listening to a song and not know what the fuck it means. Thanks.

@pencilgoboom i remember when i was little kids would say that before decapitating a dandelions
you do have to respect slug's lyrical evolution. as much as i love the absolute rawness of Overcast or the abysmal poetic-ness of God Loves Ugly, slug is still slug.
i still enjoyed Lemons. not a favorite, but a Sunday afternoon jam.

True. Lemons is great music for when you've had a bad day and you've drank a bit too much.
Like the Rest of Us is one of my fav Atmosphere songs to date.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
i hate this kind of hip hop- self absorbed white kids acting all fuckin' world weary and pretending they're 'crazy from all this hustling'. i call bullshit- you're white and grew up in the upper midwest.

Please explain to me where Slug ever claimed to hustle.
Slug is an upper midwest white kid, just as you claim...so what should he rap about? Guns? Sex? Violence? Would that make him real or just another emcee telling lies on the mic to enhance his appeal?
I call bullshit on 90 percent of rappers, but there's no bullshit in Slug's lyrics. He is a bit too emotional at times, but his songs have true substance.
Self-absorbed is making every song on your album an ego trip.
